The 3DS makes a rattling sound if you shake it, I'm not sure if that's normal or not I think you actually bought a maraca disguised as a 3DS. :/ Either that, or your 3DS has evolved into a snake. That would explain a lot, because snakes don't use electricity. In all seriousness, please contact nintendo and they can replace/fix it. My DSi broke and they replaced it. The only problem with it when I got it back was that all the downloadable games that game with it were gone. I was able to get the other DSiWares I bought back, but not the games it came with.

Do you know how much it would cost to replace it?

Ask Nintendo and they'll tell you how much. A google search said around $75. I didn't pay anything for my repair since it was during my warranty. If your warranty time is still on, it'll be free.

Well, sadly, it's not under warranty.

You know what does suck? My L button is broken on my 3DS, and I talked to Customer Support... I still would be paying $60... FOR A BROKEN BUTTON. Required for a lot of games. Should I pay the $60, or no?
